A Ceramic Coating (often utilizing Silicon Dioxide or SiO2) is completely different. It is a liquid polymer applied by hand that chemically bonds with your vehicle's factory clear coat. Once cured, it creates a semi-permanent, glass-like layer of protection over your paint. It does not wash off or break down over time. It creates an insanely slick, hydrophobic surface that repels water, dirt, and grime, making your car infinitely easier to wash while maintaining a showroom-level "wet" gloss for years.
A coating will bond to whatever is on the surface. We thoroughly wash the vehicle, apply an iron remover to dissolve embedded brake dust, and use a clay bar to ensure the clear coat is 100% bare and smooth.
Because a ceramic coating is essentially a hard glass shell, it will permanently lock in any swirl marks or scratches beneath it. Therefore, a mandatory 1-step or multi-step machine polish is performed to perfect the paint first.
We wipe down every inch of the paintwork with a specialized isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution. This strips away any remaining polishing oils or residues, creating a virgin surface for the coating to bond to.
Working in small sections, we carefully apply the liquid ceramic coating using a specialized applicator block. It is allowed to flash (momentarily evaporate) before being meticulously leveled and buffed off with clean microfibers.
The vehicle must remain dry and away from the elements while the coating cross-links and hardens. Once cured, your vehicle's clear coat is significantly harder, glossier, and protected for years.
